Sideshow Collectibles - G.I. Joe: 1/6th Scale Stalker Collectible Figure

The Official pictures have now been released and my opinion has stayed the same as far as purchasing goes. Nice job on portraying the character though. Check the pictures below, yo joe!

What Eye Watch - Le Chevalier D'Eon (Production I.G.)

What Eye Watch - Le Chevalier D'Eon (Production I.G.)

Just finished watching this series a few days ago. Production I.G. is brilliant, one of the best studios in the business. I was interested in this anime for not only its gorgeous animation, but for the historical aspects of its story. Which ended up being very interesting indeed. Overall I did enjoy this series, but it was a bit too slow for my tastes. As well as the time period not being my preferred setting for anime. I also would've liked blood as apposed dust/sand during the fight scenes. I must say though, the ending was definitely not a let down for me. Everything came together very nicely. Check it out if you're interested: Le Chevalier D'Eon

Hot Toys - DX05 - Indiana Jones (Raiders of the Lost Ark): 1/6th scale Indiana Jones Collectible Figure

Hot Toys - DX05 - Indiana Jones (Raiders of the Lost Ark): 1/6th scale Indiana Jones Collectible Figure

Alright, so here it is.. the first Hot Toys Harrison Ford head sculpt! Failure. I'm in no way trying to be harsh, I'm just saying. I thought this was going to be absolutely spot on.. I was wrong. To me, the head sculpt only looks correct from certain angles. Others not so much. As for now, I will have to pass on this release. Shame! I'm still definitely looking forward to seeing their recently announced Star Wars license. Help us Hot Toys Ltd., you're our only hope (I kid, I kid.. Sideshow rocks!).

Back to Indy, the first picture shows the best resemblance. The next reveals the obvious problematic areas (Hat sits too high, likeness slightly off, thick neck and baggy clothes). Everything else looks very nice. I really like the inter-changeable hair styles (I noticed they're doing this with RE4: Afterlife Alice too). As well as all the many accessories.

On a final note, it seems like it still needs something more. Considering it's a DX and has a price tag of almost $250.00USD, it just feels overly priced and overall lacking. Come to think of it, I wonder if Sideshow Collectible's involvement had anything to do with all the flaws in this product? You never know. Like I said before: MINE? Nope. Enjoy the images.

Sideshow Collectibles - G.I. Joe: 1/6th Stalker (Sneak Peek)

Sideshow Collectibles - G.I. Joe: 1/6th Stalker (Sneak Peek)

I've been a fan of G.I. Joe ever since I can remember, so the fact that Sideshow Collectibles has started producing 1/6th figures for this franchise is just neat. As excited as I was, up until Beachhead - I wasn't really "feeling" the majority of the characters for one reason or another. After ordering and receiving my Sideshow Exclusive version of Beachhead (With totally awesome extra Portrait and Beret!), I have found the urge to track down a few of the earlier releases. Specifically, Sideshow Exclusive versions of: Duke, Cobra Commander and a Red Ninja or two. Everything else is not worth it to me at this point.

Truth be told, I really wanted to pick up Cobra Commander - the reason I didn't being: I was a bit sour at first about SSC choosing to make the hooded "KKK" version over my preferred "Mirror Mask" style. I'm a relatively young collector and I grew up on the 1985 Sunbow produced Movie/Show (Yes, Cobra La is amazingly mind-blowing. lol.), so of course those are the versions I would be most satisfied with.

Anyways, Sideshow Collectibles should be releasing the preview pictures for Stalker tomorrow (January 25th, 2011) and those of you who have more interest in this character should be excited! Me? I'm waiting for General Hawk! Plus I want more main Cobra characters, such as Destro, Dr. Mindbender and Zartan. As for the troops? An orange & blue Alley Viper (Including removable helmet & flip-up visor with H.U.D. inside!) would be my dream come true, but I doubt it'll ever happen. At least they remade him in 3-3/4th size, GO HASBRO! Also, a Range Viper would be wicked too! So, final verdict: Stalker will not be.. MINE! Can't wait to see the official pictures though, maybe they'll change my mind.. lol. Sike.

Hot Toys - Predators: 1/6th Falconer (Falcon Accessory Update)

Hot Toys - Predators: 1/6th Falconer (Falcon Accessory Update)

Along with everyone else - I was furious over two things having to do with the original specifications of this figure. Those two issues being a non-removable helmet and a non-included Falcon accessory. Devastation. So, Hot Toys gives us a generic excuse (Just like with the original Iron Man Mark III BD Version Tony head sculpt!) about how the licensers would not "approve" a removable helmet due to the fact that it was never actually removed in the film. Lame.

At least they tried to remedy the problem by including a sweet 1/6th scale Predator skull, rock on! Now as much as I love this neat little accessory - I still need me a removable helmet, damnit! But, it's an official no go. Regardless, we got the Falcon! Fizzitiuck yeah! The only concern I had in this area was with the solid black color of the support brace for the Falcon accessory (See first picture), which made it look like an antennae of some sort.. not cool. But at last, some final product photos have surfaced online and I'm stoked to say.. it's now clear! Awesomeness! The final result makes for a much better presentation, IMHO.

Even though I really wanted a removable helmet, this character is just way too sick looking to pass up! MINE - will be here in just over a week! Until you all receive yours or in case you need help making a purchasing decision, peep the pictures below.

Hot Toys - Resident Evil 5: 1/6th Scale Jill Valentine (Battle Suit Version) Collectible Figure

Hot Toys - Resident Evil 5: 1/6th Scale Jill Valentine (Battle Suit Version) Collectible Figure

I for one, was totally siked to find out that Hot Toys is continuing their Resident Evil 5 Video Game Masterpiece Series with none-other-than the badass battle suit wearing Jill Valentine! Yes, this version of Jill is amazingly awesome. So finally after all this time, the official Preview pictures have been released!

Personally, I'm absolutely satisfied with every aspect of the figure shown. What I'm disatisfied with, is that which is not shown. Jill's signature RE5 Raven mask/Druid cloak is missing! This cannot be. I happen to think it's a very important attribute, considering it concealed Jill's identity for half the game. I honestly hope Hot Toys reconsiders this mistake. I would gladly pay upwards of $40.00USD for the accessorie(s), just to save me the trouble of customizing them in the future.

Not to mention the fact that for some odd reason Hot Toys decided to include with their upcoming Alice figure, her arctic parka from the Resident Evil: Afterlife movie. Don't get me wrong, it's a welcomed decision.. but to include such a trivial garment with Alice, and then leave Jill all exposed without her mask & cloak, would be an epic failure. With that said, I would like to make it clear that I will without doubt be purchasing Jill Valentine (Battle Suit Version) regardless of whether or not she comes cloaked. Yes, she's just that sexy. See pictures below..

Anyways, hope some of you are as excited as I am. Things should be interesting this year. MINE!
